Google Ads (formerly knows as AdWords) is Google’s own advertising platform that allows you to purchase advertising space at the top (and bottom) of the Google Search results pages.

Well, that’s the tricky (and exciting part). If Google just sold their advertising space to the highest bidder, the only ads you saw would be for big companies with big advertising budgets – not necessarily the right result for your search. So Google created an auction system that takes into account not only the price you are willing to bid for a keywords, but your quality score for the keyword.

Quality score Google’s way of rating the a bidders relevance to a keyword they are bidding on. They take into account: landing page content and experience, expected click through rate and ad relevance – among other things. A higher quality score can lead to a lower cost per click.

There is no minimum advertising spend to get started on Google Ads. We can help you to set a budget by researching competition, average cost per click, size of audience and – of course – how much you are willing to invest.

Remarketing (or retargeting, as its known for Facebook) is the practice of delivering ads to people who have previously visited your website, or engaged with your ad. It allows you to create important touchpoints with potential customers during their decision making process.

Without knowing specific details about your business or campaign, that is a hard one to answer. What we can say is that we have worked with many clients who have felt the same – usually the result of a bad experience with a “chun-and-burn” agency or inexperienced in-house management. The simple answer is yes. But read above and do so with caution. Google changes algorithms like Imelda Marcos changed shoes and if you don’t have time to keep up with them, it could quickly cost you money. (probably more than paying a professional to manage your campaign)

We’ve heard this before – a lot! It could be any of a number of reasons – Your daily budget has been spent, your ads have been disapproved, your not appearing on page one – I’m not going to get into them all – but most commonly the answer is simply that the algorithms PPC advertising platforms use are extremely sophisticated. For example, if you have searched and seen your ad previously but not clicked on it (why would you? That would cost you money), the algorithm may now think you don’t want to see the ad and will stop delivering it to you.
